Lenten Reflections
FRIDAY OF THE FIFTH WEEK OF LENT, MARCH 31, 2023
By Mariana Stauble ’26
"In my distress, I called upon the Lord, and he heard my voice." How often do we call to the Lord for help and how often does He answer without us knowing it. Today's readings tell us that even in the darkest times, when there is "Terror on every side," and when "all those who were our friends are on the watch for any misstep," God is still our friend and our guide.
God hears our cry. Even when we don't think God has answered us He has in a way that we would never have thought of. God is with each and everyone of us even when it seems the whole world is against us. Do not be afraid to ask the Lord for help because He wants us to rely on Him. He is our first and truest friend.
