PAIRING 9:

Elizabeth Withington, Three Children, gouache on paper, 20th century. (left)

William Lee-Hanky, Mother and Child, drypoint and etching, after 1920. (right)

"Both of these works convey the innocence of childhood along with the love and care that surrounds those tender years. What I particularly like about this pairing is the notion that the woman and child in the work on the right could easily be just off-frame in the work on the left."
