"The obvious connection between the two is that both artists used gouache as their medium. But what's compelling about this pairing is how the still life at the window in the work on the left seems to invite the bird from the work on the right. I can imagine the bird landing lightly next to one of the lemons or limes, carried by a gentle breeze as the curtains drift about."
