In the First reading by Isaiah, Isaiah says “A voice cries out in the desert, prepare the way of the Lord.” Reflecting on the theological significance of this passage, Isaiah prophesied the coming of John the Baptist who baptized Jesus. John prepared the way and laid the foundation for Christ ministry by baptizing Christ.
During this Christmas season how might we prepare hearts and minds for the Lord and proclaim his coming like John did? John opened his heart to Christ coming. We too are called to open our own hearts and the hearts of others to rejoice the coming of the savior.
