When Greg Grappone ’04 steeped himself in the humanities as a Great Books major at Saint Anselm College at the beginning of this century, he could not have imagined the brevity of his own life, nor the remarkable legacy his life would foster. Greg's resolute love for and belief in the humanities is fostering a permanent home for their cultivation on the Saint Anselm campus.

“Come Friday forums and other Humanities Institute activities have supplemented my education here at St. A’s. I’m reminded constantly of the richness of the intellectual life, but also surrounded by like-minded students, faculty, and staff who gather to contemplate these bigger questions from the myriad of perspectives we each bring to the table.”

Greg, his parents, and the founders of the Humanities Institute believe that an increased appreciation for the wisdom offered by Classical Learning, Literature, Languages, Theology, History, The Fine Arts, and Philosophy encourages people to attain a richer understanding of what it means to be human, and also helps them to discover their individual and shared purpose is in this world.

On behalf of Greg and the many people whose lives will be touched or transformed by his legacy, Saint Anselm College invites you to join them in helping to establish a permanent home for the Humanities Institute. A home that will provide a central location for the study and discussion of the humanities in New Hampshire for many years to come.
